The Gerard V Show: Description

The Gerard V Show opens the way good comedy should — with Gerard on stage, warming up the room. It looks like stand-up. It's funny, it's quick, and it gets everyone leaning in. But it's really just the setup for what follows.

Gerard invites volunteers from the audience. Nobody gets picked on, nobody gets pressured — he simply asks, and what surprises most clients is just how many hands go up. Far more than you'd expect.

What happens next looks like Gerard mucking around with the volunteers — getting them to do silly things, keeping the room laughing. What's actually happening is the hypnosis, and by the time the audience realises it's already worked.

Then the gags begin.

A volunteer suddenly feels unbearably hot — then unbearably cold — and ends up cuddling the stranger next to them for warmth. Someone becomes convinced their neighbour smells terrible and proceeds to give them a thorough hair wash. There are guitars. There are nursery rhymes performed in the style of death metal. The scenarios are absurd, the reactions are genuine, and the room is loud.

It's fast-paced and high-energy — a modern take on comedy stage hypnosis that feels nothing like the slow, serious hypnotist acts of a generation ago. Tighter, pacier, and built specifically for contemporary corporate audiences who've seen it all. The show runs 60, 75 or 90 minutes.

The Gerard V Show: Production

For most venues Gerard V will supply his own production at no extra cost - lights and sound.

Bump In: 1–2 hours Bump Out: Around 60 minutes
Audio: Basic front of house — one handheld mic, one headset, and balanced audio for the music source.
Lighting: Stage wash — no follow spot required.
Venue: Small to medium theatres work best. A clear stage with 12–20 chairs is all that's needed. For audiences under 180, a raised stage is optional.
Duration: 75 minutes standard, with an intermission available. Shorter and longer options on request e.g. 45, 60 or 90 minutes.
Audience: Works for 30 - 1000 people

No travel charged for events in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane or Adelaide. Events more than 2 hours out of town attract a small travel charge and sometimes a motel / hotel cost. Gerard V's rider states that if you're serving meals - please feed him too.
