Hypnosis is Really About Thinking
Hypnosis is not a “special power”. It is a skill.
For the most part the hypnotist has to know a bit about how people think, and about how what he or she says will be dealt with by the thinking processes of the subject.
I mention this because thinking is not as common as it should be, and yet I see clever hypnotic thinking in everyday places in other guises. Such as advertising, marketing, politics and religion.
Sometimes I feel that I should point out that the agency or public figure in question is using a certain hypnotic approach to persuade or to influence your thinking.
But if I did that people would label me as a weirdo crackpot. Which would then influence your thinking about my thinking. So I don’t say much about politics or religion or advertising.
Or food.
But that doesn’t mean I will never say anything at all either. I’m still thinking what to say.
